Founded in 1976 as a small wood modeling workshop, Persico Group is now an Italian multinational company primarily engaged in the Automotive, Rotomolding, and Nautical sectors as a supplier of a full range of services: from concept and design to engineering and the production of prototypes, models, molds, presses, lines, automation systems, and turnkey yachts. Persico also operates in other sectors, including aerospace, medical, and architecture. Collaboration with 40Factory

The collaboration between Persico and 40Factory began in January 2023 with a demonstration of the system’s capabilities, culminating in the signing of the MAT contract in March and the subsequent connection of the first SMART rotational molding machine, known for its high precision and efficiency in producing complex plastic parts. This machine achieves its maximum efficiency thanks to the continuous rotation of the mold on two axes during the heating and cooling phases, a movement that ensures the uniform distribution of material along the mold walls, preventing the formation of voids or irregular thicknesses.
Recognizing from the outset the importance of having specialized skills, Persico established a dedicated team to oversee the project and enrolled them in the training program for aspiring Application Engineers offered by the 40Rocket consultancy service. Today, the Persico team is independent in the connection and management of new assets and benefits from the continuous support of 40Factory, with weekly updates and constant communication with the dedicated Application Engineer.

Implementation of Its Industrial IoT Solution

Equipped with their own Industrial IoT solution based on MAT, Persico’s plants are able to precisely monitor and control operating parameters, particularly the power and temperatures of the electric resistances located on the mold. They can also implement a Health Monitoring system to check the status of the heating resistances, with a focus on preventive maintenance aimed at maintaining the highest levels of productivity and product quality.

With the aim of ensuring a deep knowledge and understanding of the energy consumption of its plants and molds, Persico uses MAT to monitor and analyze total consumption under all production conditions. This allows the identification of opportunities to reduce waste and energy consumption. In this way, Persico can support its customers in achieving their sustainability goals.
