The company
MEP Group is an international industrial company specialized in the design and production of equipment for processing reinforced steel bars and welding technology. It provides advanced solutions for cutting, shaping, and welding metal across different industrial sectors.
The challenge
MEP wanted to transform the data collected from its machines into actionable information to monitor and improve production quality. With one key challenge: data does not come directly from the PLC, but via MQTT messages sent by proprietary software. And with 30 different machine models to connect, a scalable structure was required.
The solution
40Factory developed TWIN SENSE, based on MAT, available in either edge or cloud mode depending on the end customer’s needs. Three distinct data models were created for coil-fed machines, bar-fed machines, and shaping robots, enabling seamless connection across all 30 MEP machine models.
Performance comparison across machines within the same family to identify the most efficient ones.
Production monitoring and traceability by batch and heat ID, with instant identification of the source of non-conforming parts.
Remaining component life monitoring, automatic bill of materials generation, and one-click order sending to the manufacturer.
Real-time notifications on telemetry events and KPI reports, without the need to constantly check the application.
